HR and Programme Development Departments

  1. Silence the Violence Top Up Training:

Khulisa’s Programme Development Department recently completed an update of the Silence the Violence Programme that now includes the following:

  1. Theoretical grounding of the programme
  2. New Lesson plans that are aligned to the “What Works Model”
  3. New coping skills that form part of the home work activities

The Programme took place during March 2011 and as can be seen from the photos the participants all interacted very well:

  2. The “Meaning in Making” Workshop

Khulisa’s HR and Programme Development Departments have joined hands in  revisiting Khulisa’s Code of Honour and are facilitating an innovative workshop on positive thinking and ethical corporate governance with the aim to assist all Khulisa’s staff in creating their own Code of Conduct which will be launched later this year. The Khulisa staff members have embraced  this opportunity to become more innovative in their thinking and also to build strong teams in the different offices country wide.
The first two workshops (Mpumalanga and North West) have already taken place and with this some photos of the North West team in action!

  3. The People Puppet Training (PPP):
Khulisa Master Trainers were trained to train facilitators on the PPP countrywide. With this a picture of the People Puppet Master Trainers and their puppets!

Character Matter Training
Wesvalia High school during the Gr 8 orientation camp in Parys on 15 January with +/- 120 learners.  Facilitated by Daleen van Biljon and Leonie Rousseau.



School holiday programme in Potchefstroom during 31 March- 4 April


School holiday programme took place in the following areas in North West:

  • Potchefstroom –283 children participated
  • Klerksdorp –43 divertees participated
  • Taung (Moroweng  villiage) -120 children participated
  • Maquassi Hills – puppet show training to 12 community members (former MIB members)
